Hi, I’m Sylvia Browne
My five years as a Secondary School Science Teacher laid the foundation for The Impact Academy. Whilst it gave me valuable experiences and I had the privilege of helping thousands of students improve their grades, I soon realised that the busy school classroom environment often made it difficult to give each student the attention they deserved. And so driven to make a meaningful impact, I decided to switch gears and go into tutoring.
Initially, it was a solo venture where I visited students at their homes for one-on-one tutoring sessions. I used techniques that saw big improvements in my student’s test scores, often jumping by 2-3 grade levels, and in many cases within just a few weeks.
Even more rewarding than that, was seeing them grow in self-confidence and belief about their own abilities.
When the lockdowns happened, I transitioned to online tutoring and found that it was in many ways more effective than offline tutoring. I could reach more students and use various digital tools to enhance the learning experience for them.
The success of our methods spread through word of mouth, and over time, my modest solo venture grew. Now, we have a team of tutors who share my passion for personalised education through online tutoring.
We’ve helped over 500 students across 7 countries, and we continue to work on improving our services, so we can help many more.
All of our classes are online, and we offer tutoring to 11+, KS3 and GCSE students in Maths, Science, and English.
Whilst exam results are very important and our students do well in their exams, for us it’s not just about the grades. Rather it’s also about strengthening the belief in our students that they can achieve anything they put their minds to.
